摘要

Enteric Redmouth Disease (ERM), caused by the bacterium Yersinia ruckeri, is one of the major disease problems affecting rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) culture in Europe. It is endemic in most trout farming countries and can cause severe losses.Historically, the vast majority of ERM problems in rainbow trout have been caused by motile serotype 1, bio type 1 strains of Y. ruckeri, including the original Hagerman strain. Vaccination against these biotype 1 strains, involving immersion priming andoral or injection boosters, is well established in most major European rainbow trout industries and has proved to be very effective in preventing clinical outbreaks of the disease.
