This paper presents the application of a fully wireless ambulatory multi-parameter monitoring system in a prolonged stress application. The system is fully integrated, lightweight, wearable, and its low power consumption allows for continuous monitoring in various real-time environments or epoch measurements for extended monitoring durations. This application employs wireless sensor node technology for signal conditioning, data acquisition, embedded digital signal processing and power management with a minimized form factor of 35x70mm and a weight of 45 grams. Sensor node communication is implemented using Bluetooth to form a Body Area Network (BAN) to detect physiological stress related parameters such as heart rate, heart rate variability, skin conductance, body/environmental temperature, respiration rate and depth, and activity wirelessly on the body. A Bluetooth enabled mobile phone is used as a data access point to enable the monitoring of a mobile subject in the field.
