A Stochastic Evaluation of ε-N Curve in Polyacetal

摘要

In order to assure the safety of mechanical components included engineering plastics such as the polyacetal, it is very important to estimate the probabilistic strain-life (P-ε-N) curve by considering the variation of fatigue characteristics. The fatigue strain-controlled tests were conducted under constant 50% humid and 23°C condition by a universal testing machine at strain ratio, R=0, A practical procedure was introduced to determine and evaluate P-ε-N curves. The variation of fatigue properties in the polyacetal was found to be normal distribution using x{sup}2and K-S test, when the probability distributions of a fatigue life were examined by strain-life method.
