The guiding principle of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) is to provide ‘‘A Healthy Breathing Environment for Every Bay Area Resident''. How are the Air District’s policy priorities supported financially to ensure balance between the Bay Area’s economic activity and a right of every resident to a healthy and sustainable environment? This presentation will focus on how the Air District’s organizational and policy framework is sustained financially. BAAQMD develops fees based on the throughput of the use of equipment and administrative processes to ensure that they are adequate to comply with the rules set for emissions standards.
