Foxtail millet is high nutrient minor grain potentially as food. The aims of the research were to study the response of foxtail millet under different nitrogen fertilizers sources and population. The experimental design was a Randomized Complete Block Design with 2 factors. The first factors were nitrogen fertilizers source/polybag, i.e. Control, U2 (urea 2g), U4 (urea 4g), Z2 (ZA 2g) and Z4 (ZA 4g). The second factors were population plant/polybag. i.e. 3 plants and 5 plants. The observations parameters were plant growth and production, chlorophyll content (CC), photosynthesis rates (PR) and stomatal conductance (SC). The results showed that on 6 weeks after planting (WAP), urea treatment showed higher CC (52.37 SPAD). The flag leaf CC on 4g urea treatment showed the highest value both in 3 plants (42.6 SPAD) and also in 5 plants (41.70 SPAD). On 3 plant treatment, the urea 4g treatment showed the highest PR (26.2 μmolm-2s-1) and SC (1.47molm-2s-1). On 5 plant treatment, the urea 2 g showed the highest PR (22.66 μmolm-2s-1) and SC (1.48 μmolm-2s-1). Although nitrogen treatments were not significantly affected plant production, but urea fertilizers tend more suitable as a source of nitrogen on growth and production of foxtail millet. Population treatment significantly affected plant growth.
