Prognosis Following Medical Management Alone of Canine Tracheal Collapse Syndrome (CTCS): Results in 84 Cases

Objective to evaluate short, intermediate, and long-term outcomes following multimodality medical management alone for canine tracheal collapse syndrome (CTCS).Design is a retrospective case series.Animals are 84 dogs.Materials and methods are medical records of all CTCS dogs prescribed a multimodality medical regimen were included. Patients receiving endoluminal stents or extraluminal ring prostheses were excluded from further analysis. Medical records were reviewedfor pertinent patient data, clinical scores, and survival outcomes. Clinical scores were divided into mild (1-3), moderate (4-7), and severe (8-10) categories.
