SURGICAL MANAGEMENT OF TRACHEAL COLLAPSE IN DOGS USING MODIFIED EXTRALUMINAL SPIRAL PROSTHESES

A modified extraluminal spiral prosthesis for correcting tracheal collapse in dogs and a surgical management of tracheal collapse in dogs using the same are provided to be mounted simply and promptly on an organ to treat the tracheal collapse in dogs stably. A modified extraluminal spiral prosthesis for correcting tracheal collapse in dogs has a width of 3-5mm, is wound spirally, and is constituted to enclose an organ in the shape of a hose. On the outer suture surface of the prosthesis through which a suture yarn(24) passes, six to eight U or V shaped grooves(22) are formed on the circumference to prevent separation, slipping or damage of the suture yarn. When the modified extraluminal spiral prosthesis for correcting tracheal collapse is sutured and fixed, the suture yarn(24) is fixed and supported through the grooves(22).
