The ways of increasing efficiency of gas pumping units on main pipelines

When transporting extracted natural gas by means of gas-pumping units, there is formed a large amount of low-temperature waste heat. When calculating direct thermodynamic cycle, water and alternative working substances have been considered. For more effective use of waste heat in the direct cycle, instead of a turbine, there is suggested utilization of a screw expander with dry saturated steam at the inlet. There were obtained calculation results of a compressor station and gas turbine unit on the basis of which the most preferable working substance for direct cycle was chosen.
