Paradigms in agricultural extension and scientific education are changing; science educators are being tasked with finding more creative ways to engage and motivate learning. This has led many to explore 'new media' approaches (i.e. internet/web-based, interactive video, social media tools), to develop flexible and creative tools for teaching the 'millenial' generation in an increasingly digital age. Furthermore, the scientific and veterinary medical literature is ever expanding. Coupled with the ever-increasing influence that precision technologies are having on Canadian agriculture, educators, students, and agri-food professionals are increasingly required to assimilate and interpret large volumes of information.
