Additive manufacturing is an innovative technology that can be an enabler for driving patient specific solutions. This technology however does provide significant challenges in areas such as Design Controls, Characterization, Process Qualification, Process Validation and others that are unique and different to this technology. A properly developed and sustained Quality strategy providing guidance and direction for the users will help the business achieve significant value, reduced risk and a lower cost of Quality.
