With this attitude, the Huf development team started to make the tailgate latch even more attractive by offering modular construction. Two innovative features were integrated by Huf during that phase of further development: The Silent Function and the Immobilization Function. With these features, which can also be combined in the same latch, new possibilities are available for the carmakers. The car driver gets more comfort. The Silent Function ensures that pleasantly sounding, smooth opening of the tailgate is achieved regardless of the door seal back pressure. Combined with low latch release noise, it gives the impression of very high quality, not only for the manual, but also electrically powered tailgates. Furthermore, due to Immobilization Function, high frequency vibration of the tailgate is reduced, if not completely eliminated, since the striker is not only engaged by the claw but additionally blocked. Unpleasant rattling noises are eliminated that way. Regardless of high or low seal pressure, weather or vehicle age, those two features complement each other and provide the customer with high end, luxury feel.
