摘要

This paper applies the homotopy analysis method and homotopy perturbation method to analyze heat flow in a rod of length L and diffusivity a using general 1-dimensional unsteady state diffusion equation with finite boundary values. A specific example has been solved to show the validity and applicability of the given methods. The results obtained by homotopy analysis method and homotopy perturbation method have been compared with the universally accepted exact solution.
