New copper applications require new recycling technologies. Modern materials - especially EOL - combine values from multimetals and -materials - recycling must cope. Miniaturisation results in less metal weight combined with more steel and plastic - recycling must cope. Waste management regulations (i.e. WEEE) cover low and high value materials at the same time - recycling must cope. Only large smelters and refiners can cope with new requirements in physical material preparation, metallurgy, multi metal values and growing environmental requirements.
