This paper focuses on the influence of different proportions formulated coating from nano-SiO2 and PCC on the physical properties, print performance and transfer performance of dye sublimation thermal transfer paper. The study has shown that with the increasing dosage of nano-SiO2, the viscosity of the coating decreases and the amount of coating decreases slightly. However, the whiteness of the sheet increases slightly and the K&N did not change significantly. Nano-SiO2 not only can reduce dot gain, but also expand the color gamut. Nano-SiO2 reduced the chromatic aberration compared with the high-quality pattern. Meanwhile, nano-SiO2 can effectively improve the ink transfer rate. Through IR and SEM analysing of optimal pattern ZYI and commercial pattern A, the coating composition of pattern ZY1 and pattern A were extremely similar. The surface of pattern A was smoother than the surface of the pattern ZY1, which may be the reason for the differences in performance.
