摘要

The purposes of this study were to develop and calibrate a scale aiming at measuring Chinese reading comprehension ability in primary school children who learn Chinese as a second language. Items were administered to 11,904 students from 17 primary schools. Data were analyzed using the Rasch Model for dichotomous items. Results indicated that the instrument is unidimensional and it is appropriately targeted at primary school students. On the whole, the scale was verified to be able to measure Chinese reading comprehension ability in primary school L2 students.
