Thermal quenching properties of photoluminescence in ZnS grown by mist chemical vapour deposition

We grew zinc sulphide (ZnS) thin films by mist chemical vapour deposition (CVD), which is a noble growth technique using aqueous solutions as sources. In this study, temperature dependence of photoluminescence (PL) properties of ZnS were investigated. Strong blue emissions were observed by the excitation with a HeCd laser and small thermal quenching properties were also observed in their temperature dependences. These results indicates that sulphide based efficient fluorescence materials can be fabricated from aqueous solutions by mist CVD method.
