Waste Plastics and Related Problems. The kinetics of decomposition of waste plastics are of interest from different points of view including evolution of harmful substances during fires or waste incineration, recovery of chemical raw materials from waste plastics and design of a practical recycling procedures. Neoprene or polychloroprene (-CH2-CCl=CH-CH2-)_n that is the subject of this study, is a member of family of synthetic rubbers that are produced by free-radical polymerization of 2-chlorobutadiene (CH2=CC1-CH=CH2).
