This paper reports the spectroscopic properties of praseodymium-doped lithium yttrium triple borates, Li_6Y(BO_3)_3:Pr~(3+)(1%). The complex of spectroscopic methods was applied. Emission upon X-ray and cathode beam excitation in the near IR and VIS-UV ranges as well as photoluminescence excitation spectra in region of 3.5 - 6.0 eV were studied. For this Pr~(3+)- doped triple borates, the interconfigurational 4f~15d → 4f~2radiation transitions with nanosecond decay kinetics (τ≈ 16 ns) were detected. Besides both the intraconfigurational 4f~2→ 4f~2 transitions and defect-related luminescence in visible and near IR regions were analyzed. Thermoluminescence glow was measured and parameters of charge carriers traps were determined.
