INNOVATIVE AND INTERESTING APPLICATION OF RT IN THE THORAX

Thoracic irradiation is plagued by a number of physical and biological challenges. But armed with a good understanding of the radiobiological constraints of normal tissues in the canine thorax, and an ever-expanding range of therapeutic options, radiation oncologists are actively redefining the role of radiation therapy (RT) in around the chest. From rib to right atrium, we will discuss how a variety of irradiation techniques have been used to treat malignant diseases in the thorax of small animal veterinary patients.
