Melody composing algorithm for lyrics with meta-structures for melodic pieces

摘要

An automatic melody composition technique for Chinese lyrics based on the collection of existing sample songs is presented in this paper. Some concepts involving meta-structure of a melodic piece and a song-template are proposed and used to implement an automatic melody composition system for Chinese lyrics according to user-specified genre, emotion, tempo, meter and mode. The final results show that the system can effectively achieve the goal of generating a variety of specified style of melody with given lyrics.
