SCRT Simulations were carried out to predict the tailpipe emissions from Achates power opposed piston engine. Using a typical ATS system ensures that EPA10 regulations will be met. Max delP for the entire ATS is 16.5 kPa (3g/l soot). The low pressure drop can be traded-off with ATS cost saving by lowering the overall ATS size. NOx reduction can be achieved easily for both ESC and FTP cycles.
