0.6Li[Li_(1/3)Mn_(2/3)]O_2 - 0.4 Li[Ni_(2/5)Co_(1/5)Mn_(2/5)]O_2 shows the reversible discharge capacity of 259 mAh/g and the irreversible capacity of 65 mAh/g. The cathode with fluorine modification shows the lowest irreversible capacity of 30.92 mAh/g. With 2 at% Cr content, the cathode material shows the highest first discharge capacity of 278 mAh/g, lower irreversible capacity and excellent rate capability. The optimum Cr addition can prolong the cycle life and depress the voltage fading of the Li-rich cathode materials.
