With the rapid economy development and vehicle usage, vehicle emissions have become a major source of urban atmospheric particulate matters which adversely affects human health, decreases the air quality and visibility as well as directly and indirectly impacts the global climate. Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engines are designed to inject gasoline directly into the combustion chamber. Compared to conventional Port-Fuel Injection (PFI) engines, it shows a significant improvement in fuel efficiency by 5-15%, but emits more particles than that of PFI engines by about one order of magnitude. Thus GDI engine has been drawing extensive attentions all over the world.
