Since the rapid economic growth, individuals may spend above 87 % of their life time in indoors, and the control of indoor air quality has received considerable attention (Lance, 1996). Especially, particulate matters are one of the significant air pollutants because they cause respiratory diseases (Yang et al, 2007). Therefore, various air cleaning technologies were studied by many researchers to effectively remove indoor particulate matters. Among the various technologies for particulate matters control, filtration is one of the most efficient technologies due to their high collection efficiency and low cost. Particularly, electret filters have been widely applied because they have advantages comparing to mechanical filters such as high collection efficiency and low pressure drop due to their surface charge (Lee et al. 2002).
