The ceramic filter for molten metal filtration on the basis of current molten metal filter geometries, is claimed, where the ceramic filter is provided as a support material with an active surface coating, which has same chemical phase components as inorganic non-metallic inclusions contained in the molten metal to be filtered. An independent claim is included for a process for manufacturing ceramic filters for molten metal filtration.
