We synthesized a new initiator, N-methyl bis[(nonafluorobutane)sulfonyl]imide (NfaNMe) for 2-oxazolines derived from bis[(nonafluorobutane)sulfonyl]imide (Nf_2NH). Also we compared its activity with conventional initiator. Furtheremore, we used this new initiator (Nf_2NMe) to afford electrophoretic poly(2-oxazolines) having pendent sulfones, and we prepared a composite film with a bioactive glass (Bioglass~R45S5) by electrophoretic deposition (EPD). Subsequently, we immersed the poly(2-oxazoline)s / bioactive glass composite film in simulated body fluid (SBF) to form a hydroxyapatite.
