Solitons are solitary waves that propagate in living systems through in non homogeneous medium of the empty space among the atoms. They are signals of salient intensity that transport information without energy loss. The first concept of soliton was set by J.S. Russell (1844) in hydrodynamic and was developed by other authors. D.J Korteweg and G. de Vries (1895) estimated that the upper part of these waves move at higher speed than the lower part: in this way it is generating a specific "shock wave"(non linear wave). N J. Zabusky and M.D. Kruskal (1965) remarked that solitary waves preserve their form after interaction (overlap principle): the energy can spread as localized packets without dispersing. A.S. Davydov (1979, 1982) has demonstrated thatsolitons can propagate along protein chains: in this model there is an interaction between amide I vibrations with the hydrogen bonds that stabilize a-helix of proteins. L.S. Brizhik (1998, 2003, 2009) has proved that in the living being there is an electromagnetic field that forms a dynamic pathway for electromagnetic signals. These signals travel as energetic packets without dispersion and they induce the self organization. E. Del Giudice (2013) asserts that the living matter can be described as a liquid crystal in which connective tissue, collagens fibres, organic water in its interfacial state support the solitons flow. In this biological model the meridians and acupoints represent the levels of the endogenous electromagnetic structure of the living organism and in this way they reflect energetic organization of the system: the living being results as a dissipative system that is subject to a quantum coherence. Such network can be excited from outside at particular nodes (acupoints) by external stimuli. The energy absorbed at the node, triggers energy propagation along the corresponding waveguide in the form of solitons. Energy absorbed or leaking out the pathway, excites the coherence domains increasing there. Thus, coherence domains can collect low-grade (high entropy) energy from the environment in whatever form and source of the externally supplied energy could be whatsoever (ultraweak millimeter wave length radiation, acupuncture needles, moxibustion, Tui Na, laser) yet the stored energy assumes the form of internal light able to govern the self organization of the organism. The external energy could be supplied also by photons, which in this case are the triggers for the autonomous production of internal light1. Every electromagnetic field is revealed as a set of photons receiving and emitting energy with external matter, and it behaves like an oscillator2.
