The aim of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) is to recover between 10 and 35% of the remaining crude oil after the completion of the first (natural energy of the fluids and rock decompression) and second (water injection) steps in production. The term EOR includes thermal and non-thermal processes such as steamflooding, electrical heating, miscible flooding, or chemical processes.
