摘要

Abundance of natural gas1 has led to resurgence of interest in its conversion to liquid hydrocarbon. Since a significant portion of this natural gas is produced along with oil, the conventional method to convert it to liquids e.g. methanol does not work since such natural gas production does not offer economy of scale necessary to operate methanol plant economically. Direct methods to convert methane to liquid hydrocarbons ae are highly desirable provided such a conversion can be carried out under techno-economically feasible conditions.
