摘要

Abundance of natural gas1 has led to resurgence of interest in itsnconversion to liquid hydrocarbon. Since a significant portion of thisnnatural gas is produced along with oil, the conventional method tonconvert it to liquids e.g. methanol does not work since such naturalngas production does not offer economy of scale necessary to operatenmethanol plant economically. Direct methods to convert methane tonliquid hydrocarbons ae are highly desirable provided such anconversion can be carried out under techno-economically feasiblenconditions.
