The use of Synthetic fibers in woven and nonwoven materials has paved the way for companies to provide unique and application specific materials for use in Filtration, Medical, Packaging, Textile and Geotextile segments, just to name a few. No longer must companies be forced to use adhesives for lamination, sewing/surging for edge strength and integrity, or coat materials in order to lock in the threads to stop unraveling when materials are slit. If the fabric contains at least 65% synthetic material, there is a very good chance the end user has options. The most cost effective method being the use of Ultrasonics for Lamination and Slitting; however, it must be said that Ultrasonics may not be the answer for every application, but there is a strong possibility this innovative and proven technology may provide benefits never before considered.
