Introduction of DBECS (Doosan Boiler Environmental Control System) and application to Korean coal fired power plant (870MW) for retrofit

Doosan heavy have been working on building the environmental friendly power plants. DBECS(Doosan Boiler Environmental Control System) is Doosan’s total solution for AQCS (Air Quality Control System) for Power Plant. DBECS include traditional environmental control devices and combustion system where is the source of pollution. DBECS does not only includes traditional air pollution control technology for current air pollutant (Sox, NOx, and PM) but also advanced technology for future pollutant (CO2, HAP). As a Boiler provider, DBECS also include the advanced combustion such as Oxy-fuel combustion, FLOX (FlameLess OXidation), Biomass combustion and D-NOx burner. When DBECS applied to Power Plant as the system, Doosan’s state of art system engineering enable to maximize the efficiency of the AQCS operation, and increase the reliability, maintainability and availability of Power Plant. In this presentation, we will introduce state-of-art DOOSAN environmental technologies and concept of DBECS which is the next generation of environmental system engineering for Green Power Plant. Currently application of DBECS to coal fired power plant (870MW) for retrofit will also be discussed.
