Fabrication and characterization of perovskite compound-based solar cells using zinc (II) tetrakis(2-ethylhexyloxy)phthalocyanine, ZnPc(EHO)_4 have been performed for improving the photovoltaic properties. Additive effects of ZnPc(EHO)_4 into optical active layer on the photovoltaic performance, surface morphology and crystallinity are investigated. The slight addition of ZnPc(EHO)_4 at 1.0 wt% in the perovskite layer improved the surface morphology and the crystal growth of the perovskite layer, which had good photovoltaic properties with external quantum efficiency in a wide range of optical absorption. The slight addition of ZnPc(EHO)_4 into the perovskite layer promoted the crystal growth, the carrier generation, separation, diffusion and charge transfer with suppression of defects, pinholes, and carrier recombination near interface between the domains in the active layer.
