All the pad constituents are found into the wear debris. For all the pad-disc couples the debris main phases in the size ranges of ELPI+ stage 12 (2.5μm) and stages 3-7 (30-250nm) are Fe and Cu oxides. Fe amount is much lower in case of coated disc. In case of WC-Co coated disc some carbides particles are found in the debris range >1 μm.
