Few works on arsenic (As) species levels in rice grains have been reported in South America. This work was performed to determine inorganic/total arsenic in Cambd cultivar and its possible origin. Samples of rice, soil and water in 20 rice paddy of Entre Rios, Argentina, were collected, and total As and its species were determined. Irrigation water showed low values of As (5-38 μg L~(-1)), but medium levels of the metalloid found in soils may be As source (2,1-3,7 mg.kg~(-1)). Rice grains had low inorganic As concentrations (0.023-0.140) μg L~(-1). Dimethylarsinic acid (DMA) was the main species detected in the studied rice grains.
