The aim of this study was to examine if five single nucleotide polymorphisms involved in one-carbon metabolism are associated with the efficiency of iAs metabolism and if these potential associations are respectively modified by dietary intake of folate-related nutrients. Most of the nutrients and polymorphisms altered the iAs metabolism. Additionally, vitamin B12 and methionine modified the association between Fo1H1 T223C and MTR A2756G over the iAs metabolism, respectively. Genetic and dietary differences in one-carbon metabolism may jointly account for differences in iAs metabolism.
