This paper presents various design and construction aspects of a gabion face Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) wall system used in the Harold Court East Regional Service Center (HCERSC) slope stabilization project. The series of gabion face MSE walls were built to mitigate the slope movement and protect the utilities in front of the slope along the western and southern property line. Through this paper, the reader can learn about a green solution for Reinforced Soil Slopes (RSS) in very challengingsoils, settlements, steep slopes and the presence of underground water. The importance of preliminary geotechnical investigations is to minimize any unforeseen issue. In addition, the possibility of using in-situ materials will minimize the expense of new fill and the disposal of the existing material.
