摘要

The patent co-application data of Guangdong province from 2000 to 2011 is collected to construct an evolving regional innovation network amongst industry, universitites and research institutes. The evolutionary pattern of the innovation network structre is investigated based on social network analysis. Based on the knowledge productiri function approach, the influence of the evolving network structure, specifically in terms of scale, density, centrality and external nodes, on the level of knowledge spillover in the network is inspected empirically. The estimation results reveal that network scale, network centrality and external nodes demonstrate positive correlations with knowledge spillover. However network density presents a negative correlation with knowledge spillover.
