When deploying a new technology in Oil & Gas applications, there are different phases from prototype validation to pilot implementation and full field deployment. They all require a close follow up, especially when the technology is in its infancy as it’s leading to fast product improvement and optimization. Moreover, following pilots in different fields on different continents with different teams necessitates a common method: identifying relevant data, understanding them and having them organized is of the essence. These challenges were faced when introducing a new PCP technology and it’s been decided to accompany this pilot follow up with a dedicated software for Progressing Cavity Pumps (PCP) operations, called PCM Field Track. Significant Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and production parameters were identified and a uniform method for Failure Analysis has been implemented, based on industry best practices (PCP RIFTS). The successful results obtained make this software a fundamental tool for Services teams. This paper describes the method implemented in the Field Track and how the tool is now used to perform Services contracts for PCP tracking on field, reporting and KPI release, for the benefit of both Services Company and Operating Company. Also, examples of results are provided, showing the interest of a global tool dedicated to PCP follow up.
