Ganoderma lucidum (GL) was listed in ShenNong's Classic of MateriaMedica as a superior medicine,which provides the effect on maintaining health without toxicity even for long-term use,as well as benefits for energy and life-enhancement.Thepurposes of this study were to isolate different molecular weights (MW) of GLpolysaccharides,examine the antioxidant efficacy,and analyze the anti-photoaging effects.Furthermore,the polysaccharides of GL presented non-cytotoxic to mouse skin fibroblasts (NIH3T3),and the survival rates of 0.5mg/mL of GL polysaccharides treatments for 48 hours are more than 102%.Finally,the results of anti-photoaging assays showed that llμg/ml of G.lucidum polysaccharides presented the respective abilities to protect NIH3T3 cell lines to against 25 mJ/crn2 of UVB treatments.The cell viabilities of G.lucidum polysaccharides treatments were 98.89% (above 20 kDa MW) and 108.15% (below 20 kDa MW),which were much higher than the control group (59.32%).These indicated that G.lucidum polysaccharides were able to protect cells from UVB damage effectively.G.lucidum polysaccharides (1 μg/ml) could repair UVB damaged cells,and further increased cell survival up to 99.05% (above 20 kDa MW) and 101.8% (below 20 kDa MW).In conclusion,G.lucidum has high potential to develop the anti-photoaging skin care products.
