Feasibility study of the configuration of built-up urban areas with the aim of their renovation

The given paper is devoted to planning of modernization and reorganization of the cities and populated areas. A methodological approach to a choice and substantiation of the form of compact housing development areas is suggested which results in systematic complex city-planning formations with their further reconstruction and renovation. The proposed methodological approach involves a set of 3 techniques: (1) the technique of generation of the variants of choice of areas with specification of their content and establishment of the corresponding form within an urban development area, (2) the technique of the chosen variants' efficiency estimation, and (3) the technique of choosing the rational variants of the form of compact housing development areas for reconstruction and renovation from the formed variants.
