Noise will lead to serious blurred and distorted weather facsimile chart, which will be an obstacle for the ship driver to obtain accurate meteorological information and make right decisions. And it is not good for the safety of navigation. Therefore, this paper establishes anisotropic noise reduction model, uses three kinks of edge stopping functions to control image diffusion speed and then performs noise reduction processing for meteorological facsimile chart. According to SNR and MSE evaluation indexes, the noise reduction features and noise reduction effects under different iterations and different noises of the three edge stopping functions are analyzed. The noise of weather facsimile chart is obviously removed by noise reduction calculation in Matlab, which shows that the noise reduction models of the three edge stopping functions are a feasible method to improve the quality of weather facsimile chart.
