Melanocytic tumors of man are well known for the diversity of their clinical and histopathologic presentations. Difficulties in diagnosis are legend and as a consequence, these neoplasms are one of the most common causes for malpractice suits broughtagainst medical pathologists. Melanocytic tumors in veterinary medicine are well recognized in the dog and horse, but are also encountered in the cat and some other species.
