We describe the steps taken to evolve a system which enables gait analysis of persons recovering from illnesses affecting gait. The starting point is a centralized system which is turned into a fully distributed environment. The upgraded system is evaluated in terms of accuracy of the generated data by comparing it with the initial system and a marker-based reference system. Elementary gait metrics are used for these comparisons. Regarding the reference system the deviation (hence error) was found to be below 2%.
