Information Technology Application in ESP Education

With the global growth of information technologies, students in universities and/or colleges have been preparing themselves for employment as competitive workforce in future. In this paper, the author presents a study in which some undergraduates of business English major are interviewed. The interviews examined their responses to relations between IT and ESP (English for Specific Purposes) as well as their expectation for employment and future jobs. As the findings show, in spite of some existing barriers, the undergraduates are highly optimistic, embracing IT as a practical mechanism for meeting their expectation and empowering themselves in normal study.
