The events of March, 2011 resulting in damage to the Fukushima 1 units 1, 2, 3, and 4 have motivated a new look at severe reactor accident models and their ability to reproduce the available timeline data. A priori model improvements may be postulated based upon currently known model limitations and the availability of improved methods. Comparison of model results with plant data can also be used to guide model improvements.
