In June of 2016, Congress passed the Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act (LCSA), providing a much needed update to America's framework for chemicals regulation, the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). Of EPA's many new statutory requirements, the agency is now required to go through a new risk management process prior to regulating a chemical. This presentation will summarize the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the June 22, 2016 amendments of the LCSA, and the outlook for US chemical regulation.
