With the rapid development of Chinese chemical technologies, there is a rapid growth in quantity and scale of petrochemical enterprises. Meanwhile, the relatively weak link - chemical process safety management, may easily cause frequent occurrence of production safety accidents. In order to make the chemical process proceed with programmed, standard-based safety management, a conception of setting up the safety management information platform of Internet of Things (IOT)-based chemical process is proposed in this paper. A hierarchical model for the safety management information platform of chemical process is set up, which including perception layer, network layer, basic support layer, application service layer, by combination of the IOT architecture. Main functions and features of a software architecture of the information platform is introduced, which is designed based on twelve elements in chemical process safety management. This platform could providing a means to promote the information technology level of chemical process safety management as well as the meticulous safety supervision.
