Research and Analysis on present situation of Resource and Environmental Data Sharing in Hindu Kush-Himalaya Region

Resource and environmental data sharing among China and its neighboring countries is the necessity for ecological environment security, and social and economic sustainable development. However, the fact of each country having their own policies and standards on data usage and dissemination leads to the transnational and cross-boundary data sharing still unsettled. In this paper, we proposed and carried out a project of resource and environmental data sharing pre-research among China and its neighboring countries by taking Hindu Kush-Himalaya region(HKH) as a pilot. We have done detailed investigation of resource and environmental data status, sharing policy, data sharing online system and so on in each country of HKH. Based on these materials of investigation, this paper presents an overall analysis of data sharing in China, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan, and points out the existing problems of data sharing in HKH.
