Potential of KINETIKS series and its application example

Cold Spray is an emerging spray coating technology that can be used to spray various material types. The quality of the Cold Spray coating is dependent primarily on the kinetic energy of the particles as they impact the substrate. The kinetic energy of the particles is related to the pressure and flow of the process gas. The coating develops by way of plastic deformation of powder. Heating the gas temperature close to the melting point of material greatly influences the coating application rates and quality. Tailoring the spray gas pressure and temperature to the material is a key element to realize high process efficiency and dense coatings. Various studies and papers have been published based on results with the KINETIKS series cold spray system. The future potential of KINETIKS series cold spray system, coatings and potential applications will be presented.
